Burke

okay i missed the 3.45 megabus from bristol by 30 seconds ouch! the next bus which is also the last one as it is sunday will be leaving 6.00pm. With the hope of getting someone back hope to text me a new ticket before the driver gets the city centre, i roamed about the waterfront with my camera.

As i was adjusting the zoom to take pictures of the statue of some English dude by the name of Burke, a passer by possibly a student of bristol uni or a resident of the city, suddenly exclaimed "He's a Fascist!" i have heard the word before but can not seem to make sense of it so i walked up to him to expalin what he said and tell me more about Burke

"i said i hope you know that man was a fascist"
"what does that mean, who is this fellow actually- isaid"

the we went on to explain to me for about 30 minutes
i'll post the pics i took when my computer is sorted out

  • The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
  • No one could make a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little.
  • Manners are of more importance than laws... Manners are what vex or soothe, corrupt or purify, exalt or debase, barbarize or refine us, by a constant, steady, uniform, insensible operation like that of the air we breathe in.
  • Those who carry on great public schemes, must be proof against the most fatiguing delays, the most mortifying dissapointments, to most shocking insults, what is worst of all the presumptious judgement of the ignorant.
